Bald Eagle

We took a boat trip this weekend to Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands. We spotted this guy perched on a jetty near La Conner.

The Bald Eagle is a bird of prey and is considered a Sea Eagle. The bald eagle’s diet subsists mainly on fish. They swoop down and snatch fish from the water with their talons. It builds the largest nest of any North American bird or other animal species, which can weight up to one ton.
